What is the Sounded.com Author Portal?

The Sounded.com author platform is a full suite for authors and publishers which allows you to control the whole process of audiobook production through to advertising in one place.

Who reads my book?

You can convert your entire book to audio in a matter of minutes. Upload your chapter. Easily change between voices. Pick from over 450 available narrators.

Do I need an account with Sounded.com to use the Author Portal?

In order to use our Services as an Author, you will be required to register and create an account. You can do this via Sounded.com. Select 'Author Portal' on the Home Page. You will be directed through to the Sounded.com Author Portal. Select 'Get Started' and follow the instructions displayed to create your account.

How do I register an account on the Author Portal?

On the Sounded.com Author Portal Home Page, select 'Create Account' and follow the instructions displayed to create your account.

What information do I need to provide for Author Registration?

To register with the Sounded.com Author Portal, you will need to pick a unique username, provide a valid email address, your full name, and pick a password. You will also be required to select your country of residency from our menu. You will also need to agree to our Terms of Service.

Why do you need to know which country I'm in?

We require information regarding your place of residence, if at some stage you plan to generate revenue through Sounded.com for audiobooks made available on our BookStore. We are required by law to collect further information from you, which includes ensuring we comply with anti-money laundering rules. By telling us your country of residence at this stage, we will be able to make the information requirements applicable to you.

What if I give false details on my registration form?

All information you provide to create your Author Account must be true and accurate, which includes for example providing your legal name, date of birth, country of residence, your full address details, email address, telephone number and banking details (where applicable). Accounts identified which have been created using false or misleading information will be suspended and may be closed permanently.

What happens if I use someone elses details to create an account?

In the event of untrue or inaccurate information being provided, Sounded reserves the right in our sole discretion to immediately suspend and/or terminate your Author Account without notice or liability to you.

Once I have registered an account, do you need any more information from me?

From time to time we may require additional information from you (for example to continue to provide our Services to you, or before we can start to make payments of any Royalties which may be due to you). In the event we request additional information, you hereby agree to promptly provide such information to us. For more information, visit our Publisher Agreement

Can my publishing company sign up with Sounded.com using the Author Portal?

Yes. Accounts for corporate entity publishers are permitted to use our Services. In order to activate your account we will require corporate entities to provide accurate information including but not limited to entity name, registered office address and the date and country of incorporation. If you are a corporate entity Publisher using our Services, you should contact us at: support@sounded.com.

Do you share my account details with anyone else?

To comply with any legal or regulatory obligations we have from time to time, we may make, directly or through third parties, such enquiries as may be required to verify information you provide to us for registering your account. We will do this in accordance wiht the terms of our Privacy Policy available on our Website. Any example of the enquiries we might may include using a third party to verify the address details you have provided to us.

Can I register more than one account with the Sounded.com Author Portal?

No. You are not permitted to register more than one Author Account or open multiple accounts, without prior written consent from us.

What happens if I register more than one account on the Author Portal?

In the event we become aware of additional accounts created by you, we may permanently close such additional accounts, or all accounts associated with you, with or without notice to you.

What if I accidentally registered more than one Author Account?

In the event we become aware of additional accounts created by you, we may permanently close such additional accounts, or all accounts associated with you, with or without notice to you. If you accidentally registered more than one Author Account with Sounded.com, you should contact our support team as soon as possible before we take action to close of terminate the account. Can I give someone I know access to my Author Account?

You are not permitted to assign or transfer your Author Account, including any username, password or other login information to any other person or party, without our express prior written consent. Any accounts identified as violating this provision will be closed immediately.

Someone has used my account without my permission. What can I do?

Any unauthorised access you identify regarding use of your Author Account or our Services must be reported immediately to Sounded in writing to: support@sounded.com.

Am I liable for activity on my Author Account, even if I didn’t have access?

You hereby agree you are fully responsible and will be liable for any activity and use (including transactional activity) which takes place in your Author Account and you shall not disclose your login credentials to any third party whatsoever, or permit another party to use the Services via your Author Account, or share access to your Author Account. You are obliged at all times to keep confidential your password and any login details.

I have a user account with the Sounded.com Book Store. Can I use this account for the Author Portal?

No. If you already have an account for the Sounded.com Book Store, you will need to create a separate account for the Sounded.com Author Portal.

Why doesn’t my Book Store username and account details work for the Author Portal?

The Sounded.com Author Platform is a platform exclusively designed for authors, publishers and self-published authors. To access the Author Portal, you require a separate user account.

Is it safe to provide my personal information for account registration?

Yes, we take the security of your personal information very seriously. We use industry standard encryption technologies to protect your data and ensure your information is not shared with third parties. For more information, see the Sounded.com Privacy Policy.

What happens if someone already has registered an account using the username I want?

If an account is already registered with a username you wanted to use, you will need to choose an alternartive name.

What happens after I click to register an account?

After you have registered an account with the Sounded.com Author Portal, you will receive an email to the email address provided on your registration form. You will need to verify your account by clicking the link in the email received and following any steps or instructions provided.

What should I do if I have forgotten my password?

No problem. If you forgort your password, click the "Forgot Password?" button on the login page and enter your email address and click "Reset Password". You will receive a link to your email account with further instructions on how to re-set your password.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account at any time. To do so, please contact our customer support team and they will assist you in deleting your account. However, please note once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your purchased books and we cannot restore them.

Do I need to provide credit card information during registration?

No. To create an Author Account with Sounded.com, you do not need to provide credit card information at registration.

Can I change my account information after registration?

Yes. You can change certain information in your account after registration. You can change your email address, and also update your payment information in your account.

Can I change my password?

Yes. You can change your password within your user account. Just select 'Account Details' and click change password.

Is there an age requirement to create an account?

Yes, you need to be at least 18 years old to create a User Account with us. If you are under 18 or the legal age of majority, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to create a User Account. For more information, see our Terms and Conditions.

How old do I have to be to create a user account?

To create a User Account, you must be 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in the jurisdiction where you access our Book Store. Below this age, you are permitted to create a User Account where you have permission from a parent or guardian to use our service.

Yes. From your Author Account you are able to create multiple audiobooks.
